Fruit of the Month: Cantaloupe!

Try a Cantaloupe for breakfast this month! You’ll love it!

Cantaloupe is an excellent source of Vitamins A, B6 and C, and the mineral potassium. It’s also a very good source of dietary fiber, folate, niacin, pantothenic acid, and thiamine. The cantaloupe extract oxykine is rich in superoxide dismutase (SOD), and studies have concluded that cantaloupe SOD extract promotes cellular antioxidant activity and protects against oxidative stress-induced cell death.

Foods such as cantaloupe that are rich in beta-carotenes could lower the risk of cancers of the larynx, esophagus and lungs without the risk associated with beta-carotene supplements.
